A) Make sure the animal is still available (and)
B) Make an appointment to meet them.

A valuable tool to use is the “I am Looking to Adopt a Dog” questionnaire. Completion of this questionnaire (and submitting it to the shelter) is mandatory for all dog adoptions. Thank you for taking this important first step.
Bear
ADOPTION PENDING!
Bear is an approximately 1 year old male neutered medium mixed breed dog that was brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officers when he was seized. This sweet little guy also had a hernia repaired and is sporting the very stylish cone so that it heals. He is an energetic, outgoing boy that is looking for an active family that will work his mind and body every day. He has a very soft, loving temperment. Bear has lived with another dog in his previous home although we are unsure about cats. Bear will stay with us at the shelter until his stitches are removed but is hoping to have his family waiting for him once he is ready to go! Tonka
Tonka is an approximately 2 year old male neutered shepherd mix that was brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officer when he was not being cared for properly. Tonka was very thin when he was seized but he has gained a good amount of weight and he feels much better! He is a large, gentle boy that has not had a lot of socialization and was nervous coming into the shelter. He has warmed up with patience and lots of treats! Although he has lived with another dog in his previous home, he would likely need slow introductions to new friends. We are not sure how he feels about cats. Thelma
Thelma is an approximately 4 year old spayed female large mixed breed dog that was brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officers when she was seized along with another dog. She had been battling a urinary tract infection for several months. Since coming to the shelter, she has almost completed her course of antibiotics and is feeling much better! She is a very outgoing girl with a big personality that is highly food motivated. She has lived with another dog in her previous home but does not like cats. Cash
Cash is a 2 year old male neutered Shepherd/Rottweiler mix that was brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officers when he was seized from a home with several other dogs where they weren’t being cared for properly. He came to us with a large wound on his neck that has since healed. Cash is understandably apprehensive of new people and will require multiple visits. Once he trusts you, he does the best happy wiggles! He is an intelligent, playful boy that is very food motivated. While he has lived with other dogs, he would likely do best being the only dog in his new home. We would not place him in a home with cats. Due to his nervousness with new situations and handling, he needs a home without kids. Cash is looking for a patient, experienced dog owner that will support him while he adapts to his new home.
