Dogs available for adoption

Though this section is updated regularly, this is not an exhaustive or complete list. If you are interested in meeting an animal listed below, please call the shelter at (506) 446-4107 to:

A) Make sure the animal is still available (and)

B) Make an appointment to meet them.

You can visit the “Animals Available for Adoption” Album on the Oromocto and Area Facebook page.

A valuable tool to use is the “I am Looking to Adopt a Dog” questionnaire. Completion of this questionnaire (and submitting it to the shelter) is mandatory for all dog adoptions. Thank you for taking this important first step.

Wall-E

Wall-E is an approximately 3 year old mixed breed that likely has shepherd and hound in him. He is a large, friendly guy that was brought to us as a stray when he was found curled up on someone’s doorstep. He has spent some time with other dogs at the shelter and done well, but would need to meet any potential new canine friends. He would not do well in a home with cats. Due to his size and rambunctious personality, he would need to go to a home with older children. Wall-E is looking for an active family that will be committed to working his mind and body. If you would like to meet this sweet boy, please call the shelter at (506) 446-4107 to make an appointment.

Missy

Missy is a 1 year old spayed female chocolatey colored mixed breed dog who recently flew to us from Manitoba so she could be an East Coast Girl.
Dogs in Northern Manitoba are in a crisis situation and without shelters and rescues working together, dogs like Missy could be facing a death sentence.
Missy is good with kids and other male dogs, but not with cats. She LOVES people and is a real cuddle bug and is house trained. When left alone, Missy will chew random objects but she is crate trained which keeps her and your treasures safe!
Missy is only about 40lbs and about knee high so she's the perfect medium size.
If you'd like to meet her, please call us at 446-4107 to make an appointment.

Boomer

Boomer is a 5 year old black lab mix. He was brought to us when his owner could no longer give him the time and attention this sweet boy needs. He was quite stressed when he first arrived to the shelter but has settled in and is ready to find his new home. Boomer is looking for an active family with older, respectful children and a home with no cats. He would likely do well with slow introductions to a new canine friend. If you would like to meet this friendly, chatty guy, please call the shelter at (506) 446-4107 to make an appointment.

Shadow

Shadow is an approximately 1 year old male shepherd mix who was brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Control Officer after he was abandoned by his family. Shadow is a bigger boy with a personality to match. He is full of energy and joy and he loves everyone that he meets. Shadow still needs to be neutered but he is hoping to have a family waiting for him as soon as that is done.
Shadow is looking for a home where he will get the attention and exercise that he needs for his young mind and body.
If you'd like to meet him, please call the shelter at 446-4107 to make an appointment.

Kane

Kane is a 6 year old male neutered shepherd mix that came to us after he was seized by the New Brunswick SPCA. When he was found, Kane had a skin condition and was missing a lot of hair. Now that he’s all healed up, this big sweet guy is looking for his forever home. He is high energy, playful, and will require an active family that is ready to take him on. We would not place him in a home with cats and would need a slow introduction with another dog. Due to his size and exuberance, he should be in a home with older children. If you would like to meet this wonderful boy, please call the shelter at (506) 446-4107 to make an appointment.
