Meet Ronald

RONALD

In March 2008, Ronald was rushed to our shelter after surviving being brutally hit in the head with a hammer by his owner.

Ronald was a fighter and he refused to give up.  He couldn’t stand on his own and he had a serious skull fracture that needed to heal.  Ronald spent several months in foster care recuperating and receiving medical treatment.
Ronald was eventually well enough to be adopted and he found an amazing home.  He passed away before a year was up but his last days were spent in unconditional love. This fund is dedicated to his memory and to all the orphan animals who will need extra medical care so that they can have a second chance.

The Cost of Surgeries

Pirate (eye removed)

Amputation, embedded collars, tumour removals, a torn ACL, eye surgery, infected wounds… these are only a few of the painful experiences that animals must endure. Although the shelter is given significant discounts from local veterinarians, the cost of these surgeries can often be thousands of dollars.

  • You are able to save the life of an innocent animal

  • Everyone needs to support this charitable cause

  • Let’s spread the word

  • Pets need our help

Here are just few of the special animals that have benefited from the Yelp for Help Program

TIGA

She came to us with a severe compound fracture of her left back leg. Because the injury was so severe, she needed to have the limb removed right away. This is Tiga after her surgery and getting ready to go home with her wonderful foster family. This beautiful baby was given the gift of life saving surgery because of the generosity of our Yelp for Help donors...like YOU.

CAMMIE

She was a 7 week old female torti kitten. Cammie was found by a young woman who was out for a walk. As she passed some woods, Cammie came running out to greet her, meowing and looking for help. It was quickly discovered that her tail had been partially de-gloved and that because it was an older injury, had maggots in it. Cammie was seen by our veterinarian, given medication, and immediately booked for life saving surgery to amputate her tail. YOUR donations made Cammie's story a happy one and she recovered beautifully and found a wonderful family to love.

GUNNER

He was only a couple of years old when he came to us through the NBSPCA animal control. He's a very sweet boy who needed some help. Sadly, Gunner suffered from horribly infected and painful ears. After doing a culture, it was found that he had 4 different types of infections along with polyps. This was not something that was going to clear up on its own and the only solution to helping Gunner was surgery on his ears to remove all of the infected tissue. Thanks to your donations, Gunner made a full recovery after his extensive surgery and was adopted.

Will you be a Guardian Angel?

7 days a week, 365 days a year, every animal in our shelter needs food, medical attention and a safe, warm place to stay. Our Guardian Angel Sponsorship Program is dedicated to the daily care of these animals in need.

All it takes is a monthly pledge, for one year, to list your name or business on a Dog Kennel, Dog Run, Cat Condo or Isolation Room. With your help, we can continue to give our animals the highest level of care during their stay at the Oromocto and Area SPCA.

  • Dog Kennel ($300/ year, $25/month)

  • Outside Dog Run ($480/year, $40/month)

  • Dog Isolation Room ($480/year, $40/month)

  • Cat Condo ($300/year, $25/month)

PAW IT FORWARD

This is an opportunity to give the gift of adoption to one of our available orphans. Sponsoring the adoption fee (either in full or in part) allows you to be a part of giving a homeless animal a second chance at a loving family. All Paw-It-Forward adoptions are kept secret until the moment of adoption.  This gift is revealed once the adoption process is complete. In turn, the adopters then have the opportunity to Paw-It-Forward to another orphan waiting for a home. What a great opportunity for your business, your organization, or you as an individual to make a difference in the life of an orphan animal!

To participate in this fun program, please call us at (506)446-4107, email us at orphans@oromoctospca.com or stop into the shelter and speak with our staff.

PAW

Pre-Authorized Withdrawals

Our PAW program is set up for donors who would like to make a regular contribution on a monthly basis. Your monthly donation can be any amount and can be made via post-dated cheque, credit card, or pre-authorized withdrawal from your bank. To participate in this program, please call us at (506)446-4107, email us at orphans@oromoctospca.com or stop into the shelter and speak with our staff.

Your ongoing, generous support helps provide comfort and the expert medical care and rehabilitation each orphan needs to become strong and healthy and ready to be adopted into new, loving homes.
